Meet Kiki, a lovable bulldog who faced a difficult time after she was discovered in a helpless state, lying in her own filth at Southern California Bulldog Rescue. Her condition was so severe that she was close to losing her life.
Skip Van Der Marliere, the creator of the rescue, promptly brought the dog to the vet for treatment. The reason why Kiki fell sick so quickly may be due to her being confined in a garage cage when she was younger.
In May, when she made it to the shelter, she was in a weak state and suffered from malnutrition. Additionally, she had two autoimmune diseases that remained untreated, and her bedsores were infected extensively.
Kiki, despite her health condition, had a keen interest in getting to know the people around her. Skip, on the other hand, understood the importance of performing well to keep Kiki going. She was determined and stated firmly that it was not yet Kiki’s time to leave this world, and she would do everything in her power to ensure her survival. We remain hopeful that Kiki will eventually recover and live a normal life once again.
